LA CROSSE, Wis. – Firstlogic, Inc., a provider of data quality software solutions, announced Monday it has been selected as a finalist in DM Review's 2004 World Class Solution Awards. The nominated solution is an implementation of Firstlogic's Information Quality Suite at Saab Cars USA, the importer and distribution subsidiary of the European automobile manufacturer. The implementation was submitted in the "Data Quality" category of the annual awards sponsored by DM Review magazine.

The nomination details how Saab Cars USA wanted to improve its customer satisfaction, customer service and customer communication, all of which the company felt would help drive an increase in sales. As a result of the implementation of a comprehensive CRM initiative that includes Firstlogic data quality technologies, customer satisfaction ratings have increased from 69 percent to 75 percent. In addition, sales in November 2003 were 30 percent higher than in 2002, and represented the best November sales in 16 years. The company was also able to significantly reduce costs, as Firstlogic eliminated the need to purchase customer names through third-party sources.

“Saab Cars USA is the perfect example of innovation in managing customer relationships," said Art Petty, vice president of marketing at Firstlogic. "Recognition as a finalist for this award not only validates the approach Saab Cars USA is taking, it serves as a model for any manufacturing organization concerned about the data that drives their business.”

DM Review's World Class Solution Awards recognize strategic, real-world implementations that represent the leading software solutions in the following categories: business intelligence; analytic applications; corporate performance management/balanced scorecard; data acquisition and integration; data management; high availability, performance and systems management; storage; data quality and portals.

This year's competition had more than 80 entries. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges and will be announced in September 2004.

La Crosse-based Firstlogic specializes in enterprise-wide information quality solutions and services for e-business, data warehousing and print and mail applications.
