Wisconsin Innovation Network starts Lake Superior chapter

The Wisconsin Innovation Network is starting up a new Lake Superior chapter in Ashland in a play to boost the tech economy in northwest Wisconsin.

WIN organizes networking events, seminars and conferences. It's the membership arm of the Wisconsin Technology Council, a state-funded adviser to the governor and the Legislature on technology policy.

Other chapters exist in Madison, Milwaukee, the Chippewa Valley and the Fox Valley.

Lake Superior chapter organizers include former Ashland Mayor Roger Hansen, school board member Fred Tidstrom, businessman Jerry Johnson of Superior Edge, WIN member Clyde Eilo, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College President Hank Hurley, WITC-Ashland Administrator Don Marcoulier and other members of the Chequamegon Bay Area UW Alumni Club.
