TDS takes top spot in region in customer satisfaction rankings

Madison, Wis. - TDS Telecommunications Corp. outperformed all regional major carriers in a J.D. Power and Associates study of overall customer satisfaction, the company reported Tuesday.

TDS results in the 2005 Residential All-Distance Telephone Customer Satisfaction Study represent a combined score of TDS Telecom and TDS Metrocom operations, incumbent and competitive local exchange carriers, respectively.

TDS's growth and success in selling both long distance and local service combinations to customers resulted in the company being included in the 2005 results for the first time.

The North Central region of the study includes Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. Ten carriers had sufficient market share to be included in the J.D. Power and Associates rankings for 2005.

"Our approach to winning and keeping customers has always been to strive to be the market leader in customer satisfaction," said James Barr III, president of TDS Telecommunications Corporation.
