Children's expanding use of Sunrise Clinical Manager

MILWAUKEE -- Children's Hospital and Health System in Milwaukee is expanding its use of the Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager advanced clinical information solution and is deploying additional Eclypsis products, according to Eclypsis Corp, of Boca Raton, Fla.

The additional Eclipsys products include Sunrise ED Manager, Pharmacy Benefits Manager, Sunrise Secure Health Messaging, and Knowledge-Based Charting, a comprehensive clinical documentation solution. Implementation is already under way, with the Eclipsys Consulting Group helping the health system deploy the additional solutions in its flagship facility, the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

Sunrise Clinical Manager provides healthcare organizations secure access to patients' complete health records and streamlines the processes of ordering, providing and managing patient care, the company says.

"Using Sunrise Clinical Manager, Children's Hospital is already a showcase for how modern, comprehensive CPOE-based systems can be designed and implemented so physicians will directly use them to make a demonstrable impact on the delivery of care," said Eugene V. Fife, Eclipsys chairman, president and CEO. "Now the hospital continues to lead the healthcare industry by implementing new, integrated capabilities that further expand the reach -- and the benefits -- of advanced information technology throughout its organization."

Mike Jones, Children's Hospital and Health System vice president and chief information officer, said, "We are committed to being a standard-setting leader in the delivery of pediatric clinical service, education and research. Today, information technology plays a pivotal role in helping provide that level of service. Sunrise Clinical Manager has proved to be both a popular and mission-critical tool in our continued pursuit of excellence."
