M&I forms partnership with Illinois software developer

MILWAUKEE -- Marshall & Ilsley Corp. announced Wednesday it has formed a strategic partnership with Plansmith Corp. of Schaumburg, Ill., to expand its services to other financial institutions.
With the partnership, M&I will use Plansmith's Compass brand asset liability management (ALM) software to assist financial institutions in their profit planning and interest-rate risk management.
M&I began offering a planning assistance program to financial institutions last fall. Compass software is designed to support profit planning, budgeting, performance tracking and interest-rate risk analysis while preparing extensive reports comparing alternative actions and expected results.
