Platypus Technologies receives Phase 2 grant

Fitchburg, Wis. -- Platypus Technologies said Thursday that it has been awarded $325,000 for a second year of Phase 2 SBIR funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

The funding will support continued development of a device for the rapid detection and identification of viruses based on Platypus's patented liquid crystal technology.

The company has 16 employees and is located in the Fitchburg Technology Campus.
