Musicnotes signs licensing deal with Christian music provider

Madison, Wis. - Musicnotes.com, an online provider of digital sheet music, announced on Tuesday it has signed a long-term licensing agreement with Word Music Group to provide Word Music's collection of Christian music on its site. The terms of the deal were not available.

Word Music, a division of Warner Music Group based in Nashville, will supply Musicnotes with its catalogue of sheet music from Christian songwriters such as Amy Grant, Point Of Grace, Sixpence None The Richer and Jaci Velasquez. The company has approximately 45 songwriters under contract with at least 40,000 copyrighted songs.

Musicnotes' chairman Tim Reiland said in a statement that Christian music is one of the company's fastest growing areas, with a current offering of almost 3,000 Christian titles from publishers such as EMI Christian, Brentwood-Benson and Integrity Music. He said he expects the deal with Word Music to double this offering over the next year.
