Two companies awarded state tech grants

Madison, Wis. -- Two Wisconsin businesses each will receive $15,000 in funding for technology development projects from the state Department of Commerce, Gov. Jim Doyle announced Wednesday.

Pointone Systems, LLC, will use the Technology Assistance Grant to hire professional grant research and writing assistance, and for business commercialization planning. The company, in Wauwatosa, was established in 2001 to provide physicians with tools and information to apply best-practice guidelines.

Vantus Technology Corp. of Waukesha also will use its Technology Assistance Grant to hire grant research and writing assitance. The company was launched in 2002 to provide product lifecycle services.
