Mazak picks Micro Estimating System package

New Berlin, Wis. - Machine tool builder Mazak Corp. of Florence, Ky. has purchased the engineering software of New Berlin-based Micro Estimating Systems Inc. for performing advanced process planning and time studies at its newly expanded National Technology Center.

Mazak plans to use the software in all of its North American Technology Centers (Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, and Hartford), networked to the National Technology Center in Florence.

"We're using Micro Estimating to establish machine cycle times, using the software primarily as a time-study tool," said Mike Kerscher, national applications manager at Mazak.
