Wisconsin private college group picks Jenzabar for common IT platform

Madison, Wis. - A group of private colleges and universities in Wisconsin will work toward a common administrative information technology platform using systems of Jenzabar, Inc. of Cambridge, Mass.

Jenzabar on Monday reported an agreement with the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities to use a number of its systems. Those include the Jenzabar EX ERP System, Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution and Jenzabar's Learning Management System.

The association also has licensed the Jenzabar Executive Dashboard to help the member schools' administrators track key performance indicators.

The Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) is engaged in a six-year process to perform the administrative support functions of its 20 members on a collaborative basis with the object of controlling college costs.

There are three colleges -- Lakeland College in Manitowoc, Ripon College in Ripon and Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee -- in the first round of implementations, but a large number of other colleges are watching the process closely, according to Rolf Wegenke, WAICU president.

A priority of the WAICU project was the joint purchase, implementation, and support of a common administrative system, Wegenke said.

The Jenzabar EX system offers applications designed to support areas including student services, institutional research, financial and business management, human resources and payroll, communications and development.

Jenzabar's Learning Management System provides tools and strategies to supplement traditional classroom learning. The system also can be used for distance or online education models.

Jenzabar EX is built around Microsoft's SQL Server database.
