Cedara Software in partnership with i-Dent Imaging

Toronto - Cedara Software, a Merge Healthcare developer of medical software technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with Ft. Lauderdale-based dental imaging company, i-Dent Imaging Inc.

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Cedara will be an exclusive global channel for i-Dent's dental implant technology. Cedara will use its industry contacts to promote and market this technology to customers worldwide. Cedara will also contribute to the continued development of future products to be developed by i-Dent.

i-Dent's technology is a means for healthcare professionals to plan dental implant surgeries using Computer Tomography (CT) scans. Following planning, the application allows dentists and surgeons to order computer-manufactured surgical templates which fit over a patient's teeth and gums and act as surgical guides, to help ensure that implants are positioned as planned.

The companies will work together on future commercialization efforts. In particular, Cedara will assist with marketing and product management, validation and engineering, regulatory management, technical authoring and hot-line support services. Cedara will also have a small equity stake in i-Dent.

Also, Cedara will showcase its medical imaging technology at the 2005 Radiological Society of North America Conference held November 27 - December 2, 2005 in Chicago, Illinois. Cedara Software will be located at booth 1315 in the South Hall of McCormick Place during RSNA 2005. The company plans to introduce its developments for technologies in areas including chiropractic, pharmaceutical R&D, interventional radiology, pathology and microscopy.
