Shorter name appeals to more online visitors for Madison firm

The former Business Filings Incorporated, an online firm with headquarters in Madison, has shortened its name across the board to BizFilings after finding that the more compact name was already more popular. The company helps form corporations, limited liability companies and non-profits.

“Customers prefer the shorter name of BizFilings with most of our web traffic entering through bizfilings.com compared to businessfilings.com,” said Mark Schiff, the firm's general manager.

Companies with long domain names may want to have a look at their own online popularity – though it's the shortest names, of course, that are disappearing fastest of all.
