RedPrairie buying vehicle-customization software company

Milwaukee, Wis. — RedPrairie Corporation has agreed to buy a Danish company that makes software for automotive suppliers. The software controls production lines and allows customized assembly of cars and trucks.

"Consumers today expect to purchase cars and trucks to their exact specification," RedPrairie CEO John Jazwiec said in a press release. "In an industry with enormous opportunity for modifications and variations, automotive manufacturers require software that enables them to exactly sequence the customer specified parts required to assemble a vehicle."

RedPrairie makes supply-chain software, including offerings for the automotive market. Terms of this deal were not disclosed.
