Wisconsin banks invest in new Minnesota venture fund

M&I Bank of Milwaukee and Associated Bank of Green Bay have joined a new $125 venture fund that intends to invest in Midwest companies.

Tonka Bay Equity Partners of Minnetonka, Minnesota, launched the fund along with a roster of banks from around the country and some individual investors. The firm invests in, and acquires, small businesses in manufacturing and business services.

"They're interested in investing in companies throughout Wisconsin, but they're particularly focused on the Milwaukee and Green Bay areas," spokeswoman Kristine Sundberg told the Small Business Times.

I wonder if these banks know about the Facilitator Capital Fund here in Madison which does the same thing.
