Norlight introduces new e-mail security service

Milwaukee, Wis. - Norlight Telecommunications, Inc. has introduced the Enhanced Mail Guardian, an e-mail security service designed to provide additional security for organizational networks.

Enhanced Mail Guardian's features include an improved quarantine system for suspicious e-mails, which can be customized to handle encrypted e-mails that are specific to the customer's network. A Text Analysis filter can sort e-mails and attachments based on key words like "confidential," or look for patterns like social security numbers and secure those numbers automatically.

The service also provides a series of reports that provide real-time information on a company's e-mail activity. These reports can be used to monitor and enforce company policies, strengthen controls and accountability, and help demonstrate compliance to third-party auditors.

According to the 2005 CSI/FBI Computer Crime and Security Survey, companies surveyed incurred a total loss of nearly $43 million, or approximately $67,000 per company, due to viruses alone.

Norlight Telecommunications, headquartered in Brookfield, Wis., is a provider of customized voice and data products.
