MailFoundry offers new spam protection products

Green Bay, Wis. - Solinus, a Midwestern company that works to keep spam out of e-mail inboxes, recently released two updated products.

The e-mail hosting and filtering solutions provider offers network products like MailFoundry and HostMail that attempt to protect more than four million e-mail addresses worldwide with network appliances that offer protection for up to 30,000 users per unit.

MailFoundry, which offers human intelligence-based anti-spam solutions, released a new version of its MessageIQ e-mail filtering engine technology and new 2100 and 4100 anti-spam appliances.

David Troup, CEO and founder of MailFoundry, said Message IQ 3.0 is based on targeted spam profiles created by a team of editors who work around the clock and send out rule updates every five minutes to quickly identify and kill new types of spam.

"This is a new anti-spam engine from the ground up in terms of filtering technology and is built on a completely new code base," Troup said in a statemtent. The result is a lower false positive rate - less than one in one million - with spam kill rates of 99 percent, according to the company.

Troup said MessageIQ 3.0 is able to identify spam, viruses, and phishing e-mails more accurately, and it quickly can adapt to new, unknown styles of spam attacks as they happen.

Meanwhile, the recent upgrades to MailFoundry's 2100 and 4100 anti-spam appliances include new motherboards, faster central processing units, and chasis with a smaller rack footprint, the company indicated. The 2100 and 4100 models are available for $1,999 and $3,499, respectively.
