Morgridge Institute for Research seeks first CEO

Madison, Wis. - The first executive director of The Morgridge Institute for Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will be instrumental in shaping its direction and values. And the search for the right leader has begun.

MIR, the new private, not-for-profit research institute is officially seeking nominations and applications for the executive director position. The institute's core mission is to bring together scientists from a range of disciplines to advance the study of human biology and biomedical science as part of the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.

The work will be conducted in collaboration with various campus researchers and industry partners to translate new knowledge and discoveries into real-world applications, even before MIR will move into its first home in 2010.

For its first chief executive, MIR is seeking an accomplished scientist with an advanced degree in biology, medicine, engineering, genetics, bioinformatics, or a related scientific field.
