Bandwidth provider expands in Milwaukee

Milwaukee, Wis. - US Signal, a Grand Rapids-based provider of data bandwidth capacity, will expand its fiber optic network with seven additional access points in metropolitan Milwaukee.

The company, which serves Midwestern enterprise and carrier customers, expects the expansion to occur by Jan. 31 of this year.

US Signal's network deployment includes an 81-mile fiber SONET ring extending around Milwaukee and powered by the Cisco optical platform. The additional network access points will be located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Menomonee Falls.

The company also announced new access points in LaGrange and Northbrook, Ill. Barry Raterink, president of US Signal, said the company would continue to expand in regions that seek alternative providers.
