TeraMedica to install software at Marshfield Clinic

Milwaukee, Wis. - Marshfield Clinic has reached an agreement to install clinical information management software developed by TeraMedica, a Milwaukee-based medical informatics company.

The product, known as Evercore, will be deployed to integrate all of Marshfield's clinical data, including medical and non-medical images, then distribute them within the clinic's electronic medical record.

This will make them available to Marshfield Clinic's healthcare professionals through Internet accessible devices, with the goal of improving patient care and procedural efficiency.

Jim Prekop, CEO of TeraMedica, sees the installation as a landmark event for both organizations. “Together, we can build the clinical content foundation for personalized medicine and a holistic view of the patient across the entire hospital network,” he said in a release.

Marshfield Clinic has more than 700 physicians in 41 centers throughout northern, central, and western Wisconsin. Within the context of its electronic medical record system, Carl Christensen, CIO of Marshfield Clinic, said the clinic needed a tool to help it independently manage different content in a centralized architecture, and deliver images to desktops across the clinic system.

In addition, he said Evercore would enable the clinic to quickly identify and retrieve all patient images independent of modality - whether it be from a picture archiving and communications system or a physical site.
