State to offer $850K in high-tech training grants
Madison, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development will make $850,000 in state grants available to fund a partnership that promotes high-tech skills training.
The funding, part of the Governor's “Jobs for the Future Initiative,” will support the Emerging Industries Skills Partnership Project. The project builds partnerships between businesses and schools so that current and future workers are trained for the high-tech job market.
Grants will be offered to businesses, industry associations, and technical colleges to train workers in the emerging fields of biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, stem cell research, and renewable energy.
Application proposals to the DWD are due on June 22, 2007. For more information about this grant, visit the DWD website or contact Gary Denis at (608) 266-6886.
