Mediasite helps California classes to continue despite fires

Madison, Wis.Sonic Foundry reported today that its Mediasite technology was used by two California universities to provide content to students at home after classes had to be canceled due to wildfires.

California State University Fullerton Department of Nursing and California State University San Marcos were both forced to cancel some classes, but decided to webcast a combination of prerecorded lectures and new recordings of the lectures that otherwise would have been given on campus. Mediasite was introduced in 2003, and education is a primary market.
