Berbee plays “integral” role in record year for CDW

Vernon Hills, Ill. - CDW Corp., a provider of information technology products, had record quarterly sales in the fourth quarter of 2007 and record annual sales for 2007, and the Madison-based CDW Berbee played an integral role in this growth, according to CDW.

CDW, which acquired Berbee in 2006, said its full year 2007 sales were $8.145 billion, up 20 percent over 2006. Meanwhile, fourth quarter 2007 sales were $2.134 billion, up 17 percent year-over-year. Berbee's sales prior to Oct. 11, 2006, were not included in CDW's figures for that year.

Prior to CDW's acquisition of Berbee, the Madison-based information technology company was approaching $400 million in annual revenue, and it reported $427 million in reveune for all of 2006. The Illinois-based CDW, which 6,300 people, did not report precisely how much CDW Berbee contributed to its 2007 sales.

At the time of the acquisition, CDW was a $6.3 billion annual company, and ranked 343rd on the Fortune 500 list.

CDW was acquired last year in a go-private transaction with affiliates of Madison Dearborn Partners and Providence Equity Partners.
