Centrose announces drug-discovery patent

Madison, Wis. - Centrose, LLC, a Madison drug-discovery company, has announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued yet another patent for the University of Wisconsin-Madison spin off.

The patent, licensed through the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, is used by Centrose and UW-Madison to discover drug-resistant strains of bacteria.

Centrose's drug improvement technologies have focused on how sugars regulate drug activity in the body.

The invention that led to issuance of the new patent was discovered by Centrose co-founder and UW-Madison professor Jon Thorson. The company is run by CEO James Prudent.
