Madison, Wis. - High technology jobs may still be in demand, but the number of women in computer information technology careers has actually taken a dip, a steep 21 percent dip since 1996, according to the
Information Technology Association of America.
To increase female representation in IT,
Madison Area Technical College will host a Women in Computer Information Technology Expo" on Wednesday, April 2, from 3 to 5:30 p.m., in room 142C at MATC's Truax campus, 3550 Anderson Street.
Women who attend will learn more about IT careers in web development, programming, systems administration, networking, and security.
Laurie Benson, the CEO and founder of
Inacom Information Systems, will be the featured guest speaker.
