Carlson leaves WiCell Research Institute

Madison, Wis. - Susan Carlson, who has served as director of operations for the WiCell Research Institute, has left the institute to pursue other opportunities.
Janet Kelly, communications director for the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, the parent to WiCell, confirmed that Carlson had left to pursue opportunities in educational publishing.
Carlson has a master's degree in international business and marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a bachelor's degree in management information system from the University of Tampa.
Prior to joining WiCell, she worked for 10 years at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center.
WiCell, a non-profit organization, was established in 1999 to advance stem cell research after UW-Madison professor of anatomy Jamie Thomson isolated and cultured non-human primate cells (1995) and human embryonic stem cells (1998).
