Research park plans another accelerator facility, report says

Madison, Wis. - University Research Park may be planning a second campus, but there still of plenty of demand for high-tech business space on its existing site.

The research park, which is home to 115 companies, is planning another new building for start-up companies, this time for new companies that “graduate” from its business incubator, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The 85,000-square-foot “accelerator” building would be for start-up companies ready to begin their next phase of growth. It is the second new structure announced by the park this month. Earlier, URP said it had leased 6,000 square feet of space in downtown Madison for more of an information technology incubator.

URP's existing 40,000-square-foot accelerator building is nearly full, according to Mark Bugher, the park's director.
