Gallup acquires Wisconsin online services company

Madison, Wis. - The polling and management-consulting firm Gallup of Omaha, Neb has acquired two Middleton-based businesses, including online survey firm enetrix.

enetrix's online survey technology was acquired along with Carlson Dettmann Consulting, a management-consulting firm that is a division of enetrix.

Phil Ruhlman, chief information technology officer for Gallup, said the enetrix and Carlson Dettmann Consulting offices will remain in Middleton, and all 21 employees and managers will be retained.

Ruhlman also said there are tentative plans to increase staff in anticipation of an expanded client base from Gallup's current customers.

Both enetrix and Carlson Dettmann Consulting will continue under their respective brand names, with each sub-branded as “a Gallup company.” Nationally, enetrix provides online survey and e-commerce services to associations, societies, and business and industry. Gallup first became interested in acquiring both companies early in 2008 after using enetrix, conceived with software-as-a-service, for a nationwide online survey.

In addition to management consulting, Gallup offers human resource and statistical research services. The company has more than 40 offices in 27 countries, with worldwide headquarters in Washington D.C. and operational headquarters in Omaha.
