Madison takes step toward bio-ag incubator

The Madison City Council voted early Wednesday morning to approve an application for federal funds to grow the city's bio-agriculture industry, but held off on committing any of its own dollars yet.

After debating a bus fare increase for more than six hours, the council took up the application to the federal Economic Development Administration shortly before 1 a.m. The administration has been charged with distributing $81 million in leftover funds from last summer's flood recovery efforts in six Midwestern states.
