Broadjam to Provide Academy of Country Music Online Award Voting

Madison, Wis., -- Broadjam Inc., a Madison-based provider of Internet and desktop tools for musicians, record labels and publishers, has been selected to create and implement a ground-breaking online voting mechanism for the Academy of Country Music.

In an intriguing move from an industry often considered conservative, ACM announced it will move the voting process onto the Internet in time for its annual awards show in May.

Using Broadjam’s technology, ACM members will cast votes online via a secure third-party site on the Internet. One of benefits of the change is that members will be able to stream instantly and listen to the music they’re voting on during the final rounds of polling in several categories, including song of the year and video of the year.

Broadjam has been using a secure combination of streaming and online voting for over three years on its music industry Web site, a global community of independent musicians.

“Broadjam is the perfect partner. They bring experience and technological skill, and we have confidence that they can get the job done” said Bob Romeo, executive director of ACM.

Both Broadjam’s chief of operations, Roy Elkins, and Romeo feel the venture is only the first step in the relationship between the two organizations, and that there are many other opportunities where Broadjam’s technology can support the ACM in its promotion of country music.
