IT portfolio management: Strategy matters more than software, CIOs say

A recent survey by SearchCIO.com found that seven of 10 large enterprises report having a project and portfolio management discipline, but only 38% use PPM software in pursuing their strategy.
Moreover, only one-third ranked IT portfolio management features as very important in their PPM software choice, compared with project management features, which are very important to almost 60% of
respondents. The survey was conducted in May and drew 304 respondents.
