NeoClone and Marlin Tech secure $167K in Wisconsin Development Funds

MADISON – Gov. Jim Doyle announced Monday two companies, Marlin Technologies, Inc. and NeoClone Biotechnology International, will share $167,169 in Wisconsin Development Fund awards. The grants were awarded at the Wisconsin Development Finance Board meeting held March 22 in Madison.

“My Grow Wisconsin initiative calls for supporting Wisconsin’s manufacturing and technology industry clusters,” Doyle said. “Today’s awards will assist Marlin Technologies, Inc., in its efforts to achieve ISO certification, and also support a project that will advance medical technology for NeoClone Biotechnology International, LLC. The awards will help these companies create 16 jobs, retain 25 positions, train 22 employees and leverage $599,169 in additional investment.”

NeoClone Biotechnology International, based in Madison, received a $150,000 technology development loan. NeoClone develops and manufactures technology that produces monoclonal antibodies in mice, which may be used for the treatment of a wide range of diseases. The company will use the loan for additional lab space, equipment and materials. It plans to retain five positions and create 14 positions. The project will leverage $582,000 in additional private investment.

Marlin Technologies, located in Horicon, received a $17,169 customized labor training (CLT) grant. The company is a full-service provider of electronic controls for original equipment manufacturers. It is seeking ISO 9001:2000 certification, IPC circuit assembly standards and certification and inspection standards certification. Marlin Technologies plans to use the CLT funds to train 20 existing employees and two new employees. The project will leverage $17,169 in additional private investment.
